I can't or can no longer access the microphone in Microsoft Word. How to fix it?

Launch Microsoft Word

Navigate to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Add-in Catalogs.

Select the checkbox Next time Office starts, clear all previously-started web add-ins cache.

What does "Transcription output - Same language as input and English" mean?
With Saras AI, you can get transcription either in English or in the same language as input audio. For example, if the audio is in French, you can choose "Same language as input" to have transcription in French. On the other hand, if you want transcription in English (regardless of language of the audio), you can choose English.
What does "Save recordings on your computer - Yes or No" mean?
By choosing yes, any audio recorded using the add-in would be saved locally on your computer. You can use the recordings for other purposes later. For Windows PCs, audio files can be found typically in the Downloads folder. This setting does not result in us saving your recording on our servers.
Is my data (audio or transcription) used to improve Saras AI?
No, we don't use your data to improve our system. Your data is discarded as soon as processing of the same is complete.
What are the supported languages?
We support most of the commonly spoken languages. The more popular is a language, higher is our accuracy.
Do you provide keyboard short-cuts?
Yes. You can use the add-in without using the mouse.

Can I instruct Saras AI to format my text?
You sure can. These instructions should not be mixed with other text.

How can I transcribe special characters such as comma, period, question mark, etc?
When you say "hyphen", Saras AI recognizes it and adds a "-" instead to the document. Here is a complete list of supported special characters.

Why do I keep getting back "You" for transcription?
This typically means that the recording was not audible enough and in our experience, there is an issue with the microphone. You can fix this issue by resetting the microphone. You can also close your browser tabs/any application that uses audio or restart the computer to see if that makes a difference.
